Digitizing the Building Material Industry in Qatar with a Scalable B2B Marketplace

TL;DR

  • The building material sector in Qatar lacked a centralized digital marketplace, leading to slow transactions and operational inefficiencies.
  • Veroke partnered with the client to launch BuildHub (placeholder name due to NDA), a B2B ecosystem for contractors and material suppliers.
  • The platform enables secure onboarding, purchase order negotiation, real-time order tracking, and digital checkout.
  • BuildHub introduced transparency, speed, and automation to an industry previously dominated by manual workflows.

The Challenge: A Sector Ready for Disruption

Despite being one of the most critical pillars of Qatar’s economy, the building material supply chain remained underserved by digital innovation.

  • Buyers and suppliers relied on manual calls, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems to manage procurement.
  • The lack of a purpose-built platform resulted in delays, miscommunication, and missed business opportunities.
  • Our client recognized this gap and approached Veroke to build a unified B2B marketplace tailored specifically for the construction materials industry.
  • The goal was to eliminate inefficiencies and enable a more modern, transparent way to transact.

A Specialized B2B Marketplace Engineered for Scale

Veroke was tasked with designing and developing a web platform that could meet the diverse needs of contractors, suppliers, and administrators. Our mission was to:

  • Build secure and streamlined onboarding flows

  • Enable in-platform inquiry, negotiation, and order placement

  • Provide full visibility into order status and delivery

  • Ensure operational scalability across user categories and product types

Here’s How We Made It Happen

1. Role-Based User Onboarding

Users begin by selecting their business category, such as contractor or material supplier. They upload verification documents, and the admin approves their access based on FOC or NON-FOC classification. This ensures trust, compliance, and role-based access control from the start.

2. Checkout and Payment Flow

We developed an intuitive product checkout system where buyers can add items to a cart, review details, and complete payment within the portal. This reduced friction in high-volume transactions and improved order accuracy.

3. Order Management Lifecycle

BuildHub covers the full journey of an order. Users can initiate, submit, and track orders, while suppliers get real-time visibility into order status and delivery requirements.

4. Purchase Order Requests and Negotiations

The platform supports two-way communication between buyers and suppliers for inquiries, proposals, and confirmations. It digitizes the negotiation process, reducing dependency on offline tools and expediting deal closures.

5. Technical Execution

  • Frontend: Angular, optimized for performance and responsiveness
  • Backend: .NET, enabling secure transactions and scalable order workflows

A Stronger Supply Chain Starts with Better Infrastructure

BuildHub is transforming how building materials are traded in Qatar. By bridging a legacy industry with modern technology, Veroke has enabled contractors and suppliers to connect, transact, and grow in ways that were not possible before.

Automated PO flows, secure onboarding, and checkout reduced time spent on manual coordination by more than half. Buyers and sellers now operate in a unified, trackable workflow with full visibility into every stage of procurement.
